6 Mischiefs Managed - [Accidental video] (backdated to Monday)

[George is seated at the kitchen table, making some notes on a piece of paper. A cup of tea can be seen next to his paper. He takes occasional sips as he works, scratching his nose with the tip of his quill. Beyond his left shoulder, the kettle is thrumming away happily on the stovetop, clearly about to start boiling any minute. George pauses over his work for a moment. Then several moments. It's been quite a while and it's clear George is not moving. Behind him, the kettle starts whistling, but still he stays still, his quill poised over the paper.

After a moment, the feed cuts.]

[ooc: Yep! George got hit with the frozen carousel curse. He'll be stuck in the Weasley cabin kitchen for 24 hours. Shenanigans and face drawing is encouraged and expected. Voice/video comment will be responded to from the next day.]

Grab a pinch and throw it on the ground. I promise you, it's perfectly harmless.

Okay...

[ She reaches inside the box as instructed, taking a pinch of the dark powder, and tosses it on the ground. ]

[onlyholey]

[Within an instant, the entire room is plunged into pitch black. A few seconds later, and you may feel a pair of arms around you as you are suddenly hoisted in the air. Enjoying yourself yet?]

[boutant]

[ Ridiculously, her first thought is "oh, I bet Eames would love this for Christmas". It doesn't stop her slight yelp of surprise at the feel of arms around her and the fact that she is suddenly off the ground, however. ]

[onlyholey]

[The yelp was exactly what he was hoping for. He doesn't do anything too horrible. Just picks her up a little and deposits her across the room. When the lights come up a minute later George is standing across from her, grinning. Yep. He's awesome.]

[boutant]

[ Blinking as the light returns, Ariande stares at the ginger trickster for a minute before she laughs, shaking her head. ] Did you enjoy yourself?

[onlyholey]

A bit, yeah.

[boutant]

[ Teasing: ] Just a bit?

[onlyholey]

More than I have in some time.

[boutant]

Not as easy to pick Harry up and move him about the room?

[onlyholey]

It would be easy as anything, believe me. Not nearly as enjoyable for me, though.

[boutant]

Should I feel special, or do you give all of your customers this much attention?

[onlyholey]

[He steps in a little closer, and moves to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear.]

Can't say it's standard operating procedure, no.

[boutant]

[ Oh. Oh. Well then.

She looks up -- well, she's been looking up the whole time, with how tall he is, but now that he's closer she has to look up more -- to try and meet his eyes. ]

I don't think I mind.

[onlyholey]

[George can see an in when he's given one, and he doesn't need to be told twice. His hand slips round to the back of her head and he hold there for a moment, just making eye contact. Then he leans down and kisses her.]

[boutant]

[ The last time she had been kissed, it had been in a dream in an effort to keep projections from finding herself and Arthur and ripping them into pieces. It had been for a job, and for Arthur, it had been eight months ago. But this is now (real or otherwise) and this is for her. There's no life-or-death situation, just a tall ginger wizard who co-runs a joke shop and has been flirting with her all day.

She kisses back, one hand moving to rest on his arm. ]

[It's been too long since George has done this, either. Since the war, and the battle, and Fred... well there hasn't been too much time to really spend doing anything other than keeping himself together. But in this place - things are just starting to come together. Besides, there is a girl here who he fancies, and who clearly fancies him back. What could ever be wrong with that? He brings his other hand up around the back of her head, holding on tightly as he deepens the kiss.]

[boutant]

[ Once she's thinking straight again, Ariadne will be able to think up several things that could be wrong... and then probably completely ignore them, at least until her colleagues find out. Now, though, she's focused on the kiss and the slight aftertaste of Canary Cream. She's shorter than he is, but he's leaning in to kiss her and so she can reach the back of his neck, can try and pull him closer as she lets him deepen it. ]

[onlyholey]

[There's a desk against the wall under the window, so it's only too easy to walk them back until they bumps into it. Lips still locked with her, George gets both hands under her and hoists, dropping her on the desk. The angle is must better this way.]

[boutant]

[ Ariadne almost doesn't realize what's happening until she bumps into the desk, but she's immediately in favor of it as soon as he picks her up again. She's small, yes, but there's still something about the fact that he's capable of picking her up that gets to her. Besides, it's much easier to wrap around him now. ]

[onlyholey]

[Even though he doesn't play Quidditch as regularly as he once did, he still practices enough to keep his Beater's muscles in good shape. Throwing a bludger off-course mid-dive is a lot more work than hauling around someone Ariadne's size. This is what he's been missing... the feeling of someone else wrapped around him, the second heartbeat in his ear. Nothing like it in the world. He's feeling warm and happy and the blood is flowing the the right areas... but the small, nagging, responsible part at the back of his mind makes him pull back.]

Before we go any further here, love, I may have to read you the disclaimers.

[He can be a bit of a twat sometimes, and he's aware of it. But he's certainly not going to give any girl he fancies the wrong idea.]

[boutant]

[ She'll have to watch one day. She'll be a good audience, and properly appreciative of the skill involved. It's one of those impossible things that can draw her in without even trying.

When he pulls back, Ariadne uses it as chance to catch her breath. She's still wrapped around him, though not as tightly; if he wanted to pull away, he could. It's fairly likely that she hasn't even noticed where her limbs are. ]

Go on.

[No pulling away yet. Not when there is a gorgeous girl still wrapped around him and willing to actually listen to him spew off about his problems. He re-adjusts so that he's leaning on the table on either side of her.]

I am not really looking for anything more than this, at the moment.

[He slides one hand up her back as he speaks, hoping she gets the point. He could start going on about having just come out of a war, about having lost people. About not being ready to put his heart of the line again. But all that will accomplish is succeed in completely killing the mood, and he's really rather goes through with this all the same. Up to her of course.]

I'm not interested in lying to you or tricking you, I hope you to know that.

[boutant]

[ Harry has his version of a saving people thing, and Ariadne has hers. Hers doesn't involve nearly as many daring acts of heroism, but she has one all the same. It typically doesn't involve this amount of saliva, but she'll always listen. ]

I'm not surprised.

[ She knows avoidance when she sees it, knows how to use humor to move on past 'dangerous' topics of conversation. Everyone has a secret, some sort of ghost -- she just doesn't know that George's burst into the room on them earlier.

She cards her fingers through the hair on the back of his head, trying to figure out what it is she wants. Physically, she knows very much what she wants, but there are always other things to consider. It's never that easy, and she likes plans, designs, and details. Spontaneity is nice, but this is risky in more ways than George knows -- at least, it is if Arthur and Eames are right.

Then again, she's not convinced they are. ]

... Let's just... see what happens.

[Spontaneity has always been something George Weasley can get behind. Small business ownership aside, he enjoys living in the moment is he can. And this is certainly a moment worth living in. He smiles at her, and one hand comes up to card through her hair before resting on her cheek.]

You are absolutely bloody gorgeous, you know what don't you?
