6 Mischiefs Managed - [Accidental video] (backdated to Monday)

[George is seated at the kitchen table, making some notes on a piece of paper. A cup of tea can be seen next to his paper. He takes occasional sips as he works, scratching his nose with the tip of his quill. Beyond his left shoulder, the kettle is thrumming away happily on the stovetop, clearly about to start boiling any minute. George pauses over his work for a moment. Then several moments. It's been quite a while and it's clear George is not moving. Behind him, the kettle starts whistling, but still he stays still, his quill poised over the paper.

After a moment, the feed cuts.]

[ooc: Yep! George got hit with the frozen carousel curse. He'll be stuck in the Weasley cabin kitchen for 24 hours. Shenanigans and face drawing is encouraged and expected. Voice/video comment will be responded to from the next day.]

[They're always up at the same time, these two, either out of some freaky psychic twin connection or the fact George is a twat and likes to try and pull one over on Fred while he's snoozing away - but it's no matter. Fred doesn't mind, and honestly, he's glad for it, if only because that means he can send his brother to go make the morning's tea. Only problem with this morning is that George seems keen on letting the kettle wake the whole bloody house.]

Oi, you tosspot! Have you forgotten how to turn off the stove again?

[Honestly, what would he ever do without--

After a moment of getting no response, Fred ultimately decides that maybe George isn't throwing a fit and giving him the silence treatment but that maybe something's wrong. He can't have gone, can he? He promised he wouldn't. He gave his word. Fred immediately jumps out of bed and is charging down the stairs in moments.]

George! [And there he is, sitting at the table with his notes, as per usual. Fred sighs (irritation or relief?), then moves to turn off the fire beneath the kettle and put an end to its incessant whinging.] Merlin's beard, you arse. You could respond when I insult your less-than-par intelligence.

[No witty response or snide remark, and Fred's taught him better than that. He turns back to his brother with a frown.]

Georgie? [No response. He walks over and leans over the table beside him.] Hullo? [Still nothing. So Fred flicks his forehead and jumps back, prepared for George to give up the hoax and lash back at him. But yet again, nothing. He's alive, though, and Fred starts to think that maybe this is a curse. He scratches at his chin, pondering what he ought to do with a statue of his twin, when he notices the quill he was working with.]

Well. Don't mind if I do.

[Cue grinning, the devious sort, and caution to any that might be coming down the stairs because Fred's just started his newest masterpiece on his brother's face.]

Hello? Your kettle's about to boil over...

[ When there's no answer, she tries again. ]

I'm alright, yeah. Got hit by that freezing curse that was going around.

Word to the wise. Never pass out around Fred when there's in nearby.

Oh-- Well, I'm glad you're okay. Did the kettle boil over?

[ There's a slight laugh. ] I have no idea who Fred is, but I'll keep that in mind.

[onlyholey]

Naw, there are enough people around, they caught it pretty easily.

Believe me, you'll know Fred when you see him. He's the one who looks like me with two ears.

[boutant]

That's good. Too bad about your tea, though.

[ Ariadne hasn't quite caught on that this is Ginny's brother yet. She does, however, hazard a guess: ] Twins?

The tea was alright. Although I was bloody hungry when I came to.

[The hair and the accent isn't enough of a give-away?]

's right. George Weasley, by the way.

I'll bet. How long were you stuck like that?

[ Half the people she's met here are British. It's all sort of running together. ]

Oh-- Ariadne. I met your sister the other day. [ Pause. ] ... You didn't actually kill Harry, did you?

[onlyholey]

All day, apparently.

[Still, there is only one group of British gingers...]

He'll live another day, I'm afraid.

[boutant]

Ew.

[ She's beginning to realize that. ]

Good news. [ Her slight grin isn't visible, but her tone of voice changes to match it. ] I call a slight amount of dibs for next time; he told me I looked 16.

[ Ignoring the fact that she does, in fact, look about 16. ]

[Excellent news. That means she isn't in fact 16, and George can start flirting guilt-free. He was wondering for a while there.]

Just make sure to catch him without his wand. The little bugger's a trick with expelliarmus.

[boutant]

[ At least he had the sense to wonder silently. Ariadne, on the other hand, is probably not going to notice (at least not at first), because George has said "wand" and... something that she couldn't quite catch.

Congratulations, George. You've made her curious. You'll never get rid of her now. ]

I really should not be surprised, considering that I was turned into a cheetah this past weekend and a dinosaur told me I was cute. [ There's a slight tapping sound, like a pen being drummed against a table, and she continues. ] I'm calling extra dibs on him for leaving the wand thing out, but I might need a favor.

Depends what kind of favour it is.

Telling me what an "expelliarmus" is, for starters. [ She's utterly botched the word, but it was a valiant attempt. ]

Ah. Disarming spell. Knocks your opponent's wand out of their hand.

[boutant]

[ Under her breath, Ariadne mutters something in French. She's going crazy, right? First the cheetah, then the dinosaur, now spells. ]

Right. How's it work on pens?

[onlyholey]

The same, yeah. Anything light-weight you might have in your hands.

[boutant]

What about something heavier? [ ... wait, that could be taken badly. ] Not that I'm going to try and hit him with a cinderblock; I'm not actually homicidal. Just curious.

[onlyholey]

Someone good at the spell could. Harry could blast a cinderblock away in a moment, I reckon. He's got a bit of a gift for defense spells.

[boutant]

I'll have to keep that in mind, too. [ She is collecting a great deal of useful people. She has no idea how, but she won't question it. ]

What about you? [ Because it seems a bit odd to be talking about what Harry can do with magic when Harry wasn't the one who told her he can do magic in the first place.

Okay really, the whole conversation is weird, but her life has been progressively more strange since the day she met Cobb. ]
