6 Mischiefs Managed - [Accidental video] (backdated to Monday)

[George is seated at the kitchen table, making some notes on a piece of paper. A cup of tea can be seen next to his paper. He takes occasional sips as he works, scratching his nose with the tip of his quill. Beyond his left shoulder, the kettle is thrumming away happily on the stovetop, clearly about to start boiling any minute. George pauses over his work for a moment. Then several moments. It's been quite a while and it's clear George is not moving. Behind him, the kettle starts whistling, but still he stays still, his quill poised over the paper.

After a moment, the feed cuts.]

[ooc: Yep! George got hit with the frozen carousel curse. He'll be stuck in the Weasley cabin kitchen for 24 hours. Shenanigans and face drawing is encouraged and expected. Voice/video comment will be responded to from the next day.]

[ Ariadne laughs, picking the Headless Hat back up and setting it on his head. ] I can see through now.

Looks rather dashing on me, don't you think?

Is this a trick question?

[onlyholey]

[He whips the hat off and tosses it in the corner.]

Reckon I'd look well dapper like that if I ever ended up in the Headless Hunt.

I think I need a "wizard-to-Ariadne" dictionary before you kick me out for asking too many questions. What is the Headless Hunt?

[onlyholey]

A load of ghosts that used to live at Hogwarts. That was our school. They were all blokes who died loosing their heads, so they ride around tossing their heads at each other. Bit of a laugh, I suppose.

[boutant]

You'd have to still have your head to participate. I don't think invisible heads would count.

[onlyholey]

You also have to be dead, love. The ghost part is something they're a bit of a stickler about for entrance.

[boutant]

Are they actual ghosts? [ She catches herself before she can add "or just memories?", thinking all too clearly of Mal. ]

[onlyholey]

'course. Pearly grey, transparent, floating. The whole thing.

[boutant]

Walking through walls?

[onlyholey]

Through anything. We had a professor who walked through his chalkboard into his class every morning. Only interesting that ever bloody happened in History of Magic...

[boutant]

[ Hold on, she's laughing again, trying to imagine this with her own professors. ]

[onlyholey]

[He's laughing again, too. He likes this subject matter a lot more than the last one. Actually...]

You said you we interested in some of the defense magic, weren't you? Give this one a look...

[He digs through their stash until he comes out with a small box, inside of which is a neat pile of jet-black powder.]

[boutant]

Yeah, definitely.

[ She watches until he pulls out the box, and then she raises an eyebrow as she moves closer to look inside. ]

What is it?

[onlyholey]

Grab a pinch and throw it on the ground. I promise you, it's perfectly harmless.

[boutant]

Okay...

[ She reaches inside the box as instructed, taking a pinch of the dark powder, and tosses it on the ground. ]

[onlyholey]

[Within an instant, the entire room is plunged into pitch black. A few seconds later, and you may feel a pair of arms around you as you are suddenly hoisted in the air. Enjoying yourself yet?]

[boutant]

[ Ridiculously, her first thought is "oh, I bet Eames would love this for Christmas". It doesn't stop her slight yelp of surprise at the feel of arms around her and the fact that she is suddenly off the ground, however. ]

[onlyholey]

[The yelp was exactly what he was hoping for. He doesn't do anything too horrible. Just picks her up a little and deposits her across the room. When the lights come up a minute later George is standing across from her, grinning. Yep. He's awesome.]

[boutant]

[ Blinking as the light returns, Ariande stares at the ginger trickster for a minute before she laughs, shaking her head. ] Did you enjoy yourself?

[onlyholey]

A bit, yeah.

[boutant]
