6 Mischiefs Managed - [Accidental video] (backdated to Monday)

[George is seated at the kitchen table, making some notes on a piece of paper. A cup of tea can be seen next to his paper. He takes occasional sips as he works, scratching his nose with the tip of his quill. Beyond his left shoulder, the kettle is thrumming away happily on the stovetop, clearly about to start boiling any minute. George pauses over his work for a moment. Then several moments. It's been quite a while and it's clear George is not moving. Behind him, the kettle starts whistling, but still he stays still, his quill poised over the paper.

After a moment, the feed cuts.]

[ooc: Yep! George got hit with the frozen carousel curse. He'll be stuck in the Weasley cabin kitchen for 24 hours. Shenanigans and face drawing is encouraged and expected. Voice/video comment will be responded to from the next day.]

[ A laugh. ] Thank you for the demonstration, then. And the tea. [ Going to take a sip. ]

[onlyholey]

Least I can do for a potential customer. Want to come up and see, then?

[boutant]

You must do well. [ She nods, but takes another sip of her tea. ] Definitely.

[onlyholey]

[He leads her up a squeaky flight of stairs into a dark upstairs hallway.]

Oi! Fred! Potential customer!

[He opens a door near the end of the hall and pokes his head in.]

Ah, he must be out. Shall we?

[Another door held open for her.]

[boutant]

[ Her poor little architect heart wants to make the stairs stop squeaking and stop squeaking now, but she ignores the impulse and follows him. ]

Maybe he's worried you'll get your revenge for... whatever he did while you were frozen.

[ And in she goes. ]

[onlyholey]

[They enter a small-cramped bedroom with a single cot shoved up against the wall. The bed is barely visible, however, as pretty much ever surface is stacked with boxes. They're all been labeled hastily with such words a 'canary creams', 'skiving snackboxes', 'defense magic', and 'wands'. There is an entire wall of boxes labeled 'fireworks'.]

So. Where would you like to start?

[boutant]

[ In all honestly? Defense magic. But she'd rather not jump right into it, so instead she nods towards a box. ]

The canary creams, I think.

[onlyholey]

Excellent! These are brilliant!

[He digs into a box and comes out with a sweet in a bright yellow wrapper. He winks and pops it into his mouth.

There is a now a giant yellow canary in the bedroom with you, Ariadne.]

[boutant]

[ Ariadne once again does her credible imitation of someone not jumping in surprise, no matter how much she wants to. ]

... That is brilliant.

[ And, in her typical way of going forth without thinking of the consequences, she's going to reach out to touch some of his feathers. ]

[onlyholey]

[George!bird chirps. Then as suddenly as it started, he starts molting and returns to normal Weasley-shape.]

You can have a go if you like. It's actually quite fun.

[boutant]

[ Drawing her hand back as he begins to molt, she continues to watch, fascinated. ]

Sure. It can't be much weirder than being turned into a cheetah.

[onlyholey]

[He hands over the sweet and leans back against a stack of boxes, a grin on his face.]

[boutant]

[ Here goes nothing. Ariadne pops the sweet into her mouth and then 'pop!', turns into a canary -- though considering how much shorter she is than George, not quite as large of one. ]

[onlyholey]

[brb. Over here dyin of laughter.]

Has anyone ever told you yellow is a lovely colour on you?

[boutant]

[ There's a chirp and a rustle of feathers before Ariadne starts to molt, just as he did. ]

I've always preferred red.

[onlyholey]

Maybe we can develop a cardinal cream next.

[feorge]

[Excuse Fred as he charges into the storeroom unaware of their visitor.]

Oi, d'you know what happened to that batch of--

[OHAI. He glances from Ariadne to George, back to Ariadne, and barely conceals a sly sort of smile.]

Never mind that, then. I'll chalk it up to Arnold's doing and pin it on Gin. You two nippers have fun up here.

[Oh yes, he is absolutely tossing a not-so-subtle wink to his brother.]

[Hey guys adding into the party brb walking in about a minute later.]

Fred, George, wh - [Oh what] Ariadne? What're you doing here?

[boutant]

[ Ariadne's opening her mouth to reply to the idea of Cardinal Creams when Fred bursts in, and only barely manages not to squeak (rather like the cheetah cub she had been turned into) in surprise. She's seen expressions like that before (she's in college) and is opening her mouth again -- who's Arnold, for one thing -- when Harry walks in.

She's beginning to wonder if this is karmic backlash for bursting into Cobb's subconscious without permission, and then wonders why she's thinking she's being punished for something in the first place. ]

Hi Harry. I'm just... browsing the merchandise. You forgot to mention the magic thing, you know.

[onlyholey]

I probably should have mentioned, love. I live with a load of gits.

[feorge]

Don't sell us too short, Georgina.

[Aaaaass.]

So the lady's name is Ariadne, then? Beautiful really, as I'm sure my prat brother's already said.

[onlyholey]

Don't you have somewhere to be, Fred?

[WORST...WINGMAN...EVER]

[feorge]

Bloody Hell, that's right. I was going to demand recompense from Ginny.

[He links his arm around Harry's.]

C'mon, you. We'll use that lovely face of yours to our advantage. Cheers, you two!

[Leading him out of the room now, but he'll stop to turn back to George with a grin.]

Oh, and don't forget to show her all the tricks you can do with your wand!

[boutant]

[ About the only thing Ariadne can get out before the twins start sniping at each other is ] It's okay, so do I.

[ Afterward, she watches, both incredibly amused and slightly red. Do all Brits use pet names? She's going to have to ask Eames. As for her name, well, no he hadn't, but thank you? She tries to get that out, too, but George is interrupting and suddenly Fred is marching Harry off and--

Well, if she wasn't before, she's definitely red now, though she's trying not to be. One hand goes to lightly rub at her neck. ]

Not a lot of privacy, is there?
