6 Mischiefs Managed - [Accidental video] (backdated to Monday)

[George is seated at the kitchen table, making some notes on a piece of paper. A cup of tea can be seen next to his paper. He takes occasional sips as he works, scratching his nose with the tip of his quill. Beyond his left shoulder, the kettle is thrumming away happily on the stovetop, clearly about to start boiling any minute. George pauses over his work for a moment. Then several moments. It's been quite a while and it's clear George is not moving. Behind him, the kettle starts whistling, but still he stays still, his quill poised over the paper.

After a moment, the feed cuts.]

[ooc: Yep! George got hit with the frozen carousel curse. He'll be stuck in the Weasley cabin kitchen for 24 hours. Shenanigans and face drawing is encouraged and expected. Voice/video comment will be responded to from the next day.]

[ Head spinning, it takes her a moment, but Ariadne nods. She's not budging from her ginger support, though. ]

I feel like I was just flung out of a roller coaster.

[onlyholey]

[Stay as long as you like, love.]

Don't tell me that's happened to you before?

[boutant]

[ Using her apparation-induced dizziness to your advantage, George? You sly dog. ]

Not quite. [ Jumped backwards off a skyscraper in Limbo once, though. ] But if I ever do, now I'll know what to expect.

[onlyholey]

[He's just being gentlemanly, hush now]

Try not to make a habit of it now, eh?

[She looks steady enough on her feet now, so he nods his head up towards the path.]

We're just through here.

[boutant]

[ There's a slight grin. ] I'm not sure I'm tall enough to get on most roller coasters.

[ She probably can, actually; 5'1" isn't that short. But it's both a joke (one that, as she made it, is allowed) and a slight reassurance that she won't be flung out of any roller coasters any time soon. ]

Got it.

[onlyholey]

[He sticks his hand on top of her head, eyeing her up.]

I've never been to too many muggle fairgrounds... but I reckon you're probably right about that.

[boutant]

[ Ffff, hey. Looking up... and up... ] 'Muggle' sounds like something an old lady would name her dog, you know.

[onlyholey]

That's be more like 'Snuffles', wouldn't it?

[boutant]

I wouldn't name a dog 'Snuffles'. A hedgehog, maybe.

[ Pause. ] Of course, I'm not an old lady.

[onlyholey]

Noted, then.

Here we are.

[They've come to clearing, and a good-sized log cabin is set in the middle. George strides ahead and makes his way up the front porch.]

[boutant]

[ Ariadne hangs back for a moment, taking a look at the cabin before attempting to catch up to him. ]

Nice place.

[onlyholey]

Cheers. It's been abandoned for a while, but Ginny looked after it for us.

[He holds the door open for her and gestures for her to walk through.]

[boutant]

From the looks of things, she did a good job.

[ Oh-- There's another smile, this one slightly flushed, and she walks in. ]

Of course, I'm an architecture student, so...

[onlyholey]

Hope it's up to your standard, then.

[The main room is bright and cheery, if a bit cramped. a mis-match of assorted chairs are set on one side and the kitchen is tucked in the opposite. A rather large wooden table takes up the rest of the space.]

Did you want any tea?

[boutant]

[ From an interior design standpoint, it's perhaps not the best thing ever, but it looks... well, it looks like a home. ]

Will I have to pay for it if I say yes?

[onlyholey]

That would hardly be on, would it? Not after I've invited.

[He gestures for her to take a seat as he gets out the teapot. He gives his wand a wave and the element jumps on, the kettle rattling a moments away from boiling in an instant.]

[boutant]

I guess not.

[ She takes a seat as directed, but she's watching -- she's never actually seen magic before, not counting the City curses. ]

[onlyholey]

[Well, since he has an audience... once the kettle starts whistling he flicks his wand so that it sails over to the teapot on its own and pours. Then he wafts the teapot and two mugs over the table and plonks down next to her, grinning.

Yep. So smooth.]

[boutant]

[ This is so many levels of not fair that she can't even begin to describe it, but more than that, it's fascinating. She grins back, going to wrap a hand around her tea. ]

Demonstrating.

[boutant]

[ A laugh. ] Thank you for the demonstration, then. And the tea. [ Going to take a sip. ]

[onlyholey]

Least I can do for a potential customer. Want to come up and see, then?

[boutant]

You must do well. [ She nods, but takes another sip of her tea. ] Definitely.

[onlyholey]

[He leads her up a squeaky flight of stairs into a dark upstairs hallway.]

Oi! Fred! Potential customer!

[He opens a door near the end of the hall and pokes his head in.]

Ah, he must be out. Shall we?

[Another door held open for her.]

[boutant]

[ Her poor little architect heart wants to make the stairs stop squeaking and stop squeaking now, but she ignores the impulse and follows him. ]

Maybe he's worried you'll get your revenge for... whatever he did while you were frozen.

[ And in she goes. ]
